Tajikistan, the country in Central Asia, is landlocked and mostly mountainous land. Fifty percent of its territory is over 9,000 feet above sea level. Eight peaks have height more than 20,000 feet. This huge highland, named Pamirs, also called "Roof of the World", offers you the unique opportunity for mountain hunting.
Bukhara Markhor, also known as the screw-horn goat, has the horn size of 40+ inches. This large wild goat is hunted in Kulyab district, along the Pyanj River.

You will arrive to Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, where we meet you in VIP lounge and help with formalities. The same day we will drive to one of base camps. The journey can take up to 15 hours, depending of camp location and road conditions.
August 15 – December 15, with the best in October and November.
Comfortable warm houses, cabins or traditional yurts. Shower/sauna. Kitchen and dining room. Electrical generation. Spike camps are used in early season. Bring your sleeping bag and pad.

You will arrive to Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, where we meet you in VIP lounge and help with formalities. The same day we will drive to the hunting area. It takes 4-5 hours by 4x4 vehicle.

Comfortable stone house with separate bedrooms. Shower. Kitchen and dining room. Electricity. European/Asian food. We use spike tented camps, if necessary. Bring your sleeping bag and pad.
The climate is subtropical. During the hunting season the average day temperature is about 40-450F (5-70C). At night the temperature lowers to about 20-300F (-5-00C). Rain and snow (in December) are possible. Windy days are usual.
Hunting for Markhor is organized at comparatively low altitudes of 4,900-5,300 feet (1,500-1,600 meters). As a rule, Markhor tends to prefer sheer cliffs of sandstone. You have to get at the shooting distance by stalking from below or staying at the opposite cliff. It might be necessary to stay overnight at the spike camp for 1-3 days. Climbing equipment is useful, and spotting scope as well. A long-range shooting distance, up to 400-500 yards and even more, is usual.
